Dr. Lietman is a board-certified and fellowship-trained adult reconstruction specialist. His clinical interests include total knee/hip replacement, total knee/hip reconstruction and revision, and musculoskeletal tumors. Dr. Lietman earned his medical degree from Dartmouth College. He completed his residency at Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Lietman completed fellowships in orthopaedic oncology at Boston Children's Hospital and at Massachusetts General Hospital. He is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

As I had been in the ER the previous day and was on crutches, Dr Lietman insisted I was fine and did not need to use them. I was unable to put my weight on my leg so needed them for support. He also kept insisting I repeat the injury so he could determine the cause. This was impossible since it was not a voluntary action and was very painful. He did not offer me any relief for my current symptoms but suggested I use a gel and should message him in 3 months to let him know of my progress. I made an appointment with another doctor the following day.

Dr. Lietman was very thorough and made sure that my wife and I could see the x-ray as he was explaining the reason for my pain. He then explained the options available and emphasized that we should be sure to contact him with any further questions or concerns.

It was a great visit overall. Dr. Lietman had done surgery for the same joint in the past so it was just so great to have his thorough and considered review of my presenting problem and helped to allay our concerns at the severe of the event. The only area where he and I had a mild difference of opinion was the value of physical therapy for rehabbing joint injuries. In the end he did give me cautious approval to see an accomplished Physical Therapist.
