Sarah Podwika, MD

Sarah Podwika, MD, is an OB-GYN who specializes in caring for patients with gynecologic cancers, including uterine, ovarian, cervical, vulvar and vaginal. She performs surgeries and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team of oncologists and radiation oncologists to provide comprehensive treatment.
A caring and compassionate provider, Dr. Podwika finds joy in getting to know her patients and helping them through their cancer journey. “It is an honor to be part of their care team,” she shares. “While a cancer diagnosis is never easy, I'm optimistic about the advancements in treatments and options available to our patients.”
Dr. Podwika earned her Doctor of Medicine and Master of Public Health degrees from the University of Virginia School of Medicine. Throughout her academic career, she received numerous grants and scholarships, such as the Peyton T. Taylor Endowed Research Scholarship for innovative research strategies. She was also recognized for her excellence in teaching, teamwork and patient care with multiple awards.
Committed to advancing the field of obstetrics and gynecology, Dr. Podwika's research interests include cervical cancer testing and healthcare reimbursement for gynecologic procedures. She has contributed to several peer-reviewed publications and has volunteered and conducted research in countries like Rwanda, Tanzania, and Guatemala.
Before pursuing medicine, Dr. Podwika worked as a certified public accountant. When she's not attending to her hospital duties, she enjoys spending quality time with her husband and children. She is excited to be back in central Pennsylvania, where she was raised.
