Russell Allan Carter, MD

Russell Carter, MD, is a cardiothoracic and vascular surgeon specializing in cardiothoracic surgery. Dr. Carter completed his medical degree, his residency in general surgery and fellowships in peripheral vascular surgery and cardiothoracic surgery at the University of Tennessee. Dr. Carter performs aortic aneurysm repair, coronary artery bypass surgery and heart valve repair and replacement, as well as ventricular assist device implantation. He also performs cutting-edge procedures such as transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), and supports transcatheter mitral valve procedures. Dr. Carter is an active member and participating member in the Society of Thoracic Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons.
