About Peter Costarelli

Peter Costarelli, OD, is a optometrist. He performs routine eye exams, contact lens fittings and follow up, diagnosis and treatment of eye conditions and referrals to specialists. He also performs a variety of procedures, including eye refraction, glaucoma testing, contact lens fitting, testing and evaluating diabetic and hypertensive retinopathy, treatment for cataracts, dry eyes, ocular surface disease, corneal disorders and meibomian gland dysfunction, uveitis (anterior and posterior) and neurotrophic keratitis, gonioscopy, foreign body removal, use of amniotic membranes, scleral contact lenses, cataracts and pre- and post-op care for refractive surgery. “I truly enjoy the nuts and bolts of patient care,” he says. “It’s a privilege and a pleasure.”
Dr. Costarelli earned his medical degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry.
“My intervention on behalf of patients that saved their eyesight, the eyesight of their friend or family member or, in a few cases, possibly their lives” is what makes him most proud.
Dr. Costarelli is the father of 2 daughters. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with friends and family and his cat, Charlie.

    Just like with the assistant, the doctor was very adaptive and accommodating. Right after entering the room, he noticed I was wearing a face mask and immediately offered to put one on if I wanted him to. He ensured I was comfortable throughout the entire process. He went with a different, very thorough exam since I was nervous to have my eyes dilated. This was the most comfortable I've ever felt at an eye exam. Thank you!
