Neil Mehta, MD, is a board-certified internal medicine physician who specializes in cardiology. He provides heart care for men and women including treatment for coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, heart failure and arrhythmias. “I enjoy being able to make a difference in patients’ cardiovascular health,” he says.
Dr. Mehta has a clinical interest in preventive cardiology and heart imaging and performs and interprets echocardiograms, heart stress tests and cardiac CT scans.
Dr. Mehta earned his medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville. He followed this with a residency in internal medicine at Weill Cornell Medical Center at New York Presbyterian Hospital in New York and a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Mehta is an experienced academic researcher and has authored numerous papers and abstracts. He’s also served as a question writer for medical board exams and as a teaching assistant, working with interns and residents. “I’m passionate about medical education and enjoy working with trainees,” he says.
In his spare time, Dr. Mehta enjoys cooking, hiking, running and spending time with his family.

Dr. Mehta is always do helpful & patient in explaining my many questions. I never feel rushed and he always makes me feel that he is interested in my health. I would recommend Dr. Mehta to anyone needing an excellent and caring cardiologist. I feel blessed that he Is my physician!

Dr. Neil Mehta is extremely knowledgeable, professional and personable. He listens to every detail of what you have to say and didn't make you feel rushed to get all of your questions out. He takes the time to answer all questions. He is a great asset to Geisinger and I am grateful he is my Cardiologist.
