Maya Lichtenstein, MD, is a neurologist who specializes in diagnosing and treating people who have Alzheimer's disease, frontotemporal dementia, Lewy body dementia, vascular dementia, primary progressive aphasias (language disorders) and other brain conditions that cause memory or other cognitive changes.
Once a patient’s condition is diagnosed, Dr. Lichtenstein works closely with them and their loved ones to provide treatment options that meet their preferences. This may include medical and non-medical therapies.
Dr. Lichtenstein feels privileged to partner with her patients as they navigate their conditions. “People who have trouble with memory and thinking often feel very vulnerable,” she says. “Being able to provide help and support is such a pleasure.”
Dr. Lichtenstein earned her medical degree from the Sackler School of Medicine in Israel. She completed her residency at The Pennsylvania State University's Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and her advanced training in behavioral neurology at the University of British Columbia.

Dr Lichtenstein was very considerate of my situation this was my second visit to her one was last year you could tell she was very knowledgeable and remembered everything about my last visit even that stated that I had slightly improved we discussed getting a EEG to wean off phenobarbital the appointment was arranged for that afternoon
