Madeeha Shafqat, MD

Madeeha Shafqat, MD, is a hospital medicine specialist dedicated to the care of acutely ill hospitalized patients. Her clinical practice encompasses a range of medical conditions, including complex cases of respiratory distress, sepsis and other multifaceted challenges typical in hospital settings.

Originally from Pakistan, Dr. Shafqat earned her medical degrees from Khyber Medical College Peshawar. She completed her internal medicine residency at Mercy Health St. Vincent in Ohio.

During her studies, she served as a research associate at the University of Arizona and at the Taussig Cancer Center in Cleveland, contributing to over 20 research publications.

When not attending hospital patients, Dr. Shafqat enjoys outdoor activities. “Some of my most memorable expeditions were hiking in the Northwest Territories in Pakistan,” she says. She’s an avid traveler and speaks five languages: Urdu, Hindi, Pashto, Punjabi and English.
