Luis Felipe Gonzalez Vazquez, MD

Luis Felipe Gonzalez Vazquez, MD, is an anesthesiologist at Geisinger. He provides care to patients in the perioperative settings for surgery or procedures that require anesthesia.
“I do love to take care of my patients and advocate for them,” he says. “Being a factor for change and support is what makes me come to work every day.”
Dr. Gonzalez Vasquez earned his medical degree at Santiago of Cuba College of Medicine in Santiago of Cuba. He followed that with a residency at Hospital Ambrosio Grillo Portuondo in Santiago of Cuba. Dr. Gonzalez Vazquez also holds a nursing degree from Penn State University Harrisburg. 
He wanted to pursue a career in medicine from childhood, crediting his parents and the love they had for their profession.
“Being a physician requires curiosity and wit,” he says. “Reading mystery books when I was a kid inspired me to become a doctor like Watson in Sherlock Holmes.”
Dr. Gonzalez Vazquez is an accomplished medical researcher, writer and presenter.
In his spare time, he enjoys travelling, running, dancing, going to the gym and learning other languages.
