MaleAbout Leopoldo Poblete Legaspi, Jr.
Leopoldo Legaspi, MD, is a pediatrician specializing in urgent care for children from birth to age 18. He diagnoses and treats a variety of urgent care conditions, including injuries such as broken bones, sprains and cuts, as well as acute illnesses and other issues such as ear infections, strep throat, colds, flus, allergies, rhinosinusitis, croup, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, skin infections or rashes and high temperatures.
Known for his comforting bedside manner, he often quips, "Any patient shorter than me I’ll see. I love helping children and putting a smile on their faces. What inspires me is making a difference in their lives — for both children and their parents.” Dr. Legaspi considers returning patients to be the highest compliment he can receive in his medical practice.
The son of a Navy veteran, Dr. Legaspi was born in the U.S. but spent much of his childhood in Manila, Philippines. He earned his medical degree from the University of Santo Tomas, followed by pediatric residencies at Mt. Sinai School of Medicine, Elmhurst Hospital Center in New York City. He is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and speaks English and Tagalog fluently.
When not at the hospital, Dr. Legaspi enjoys woodworking, supporting his children at swimming meets and taking care of his pets — black labs Suki and Juliana, and pigs Penny and Tevo.
