About Ion Prohnitchi

Ion Prohnitchi, MD, is an ear, nose and throat (ENT) doctor who specializes in treating complex sinus and nasal conditions. He cares for people with chronic sinus infections, nasal polyps and problems related to the sense of smell. Dr. Prohnitchi also treats sinus headaches, nasal obstructions and sinus issues caused by allergies or inflammation. He performs minimally invasive sinus surgeries and advanced procedures to improve breathing and quality of life, including image-guided sinus surgery and endoscopic skull base surgery.
Dr. Prohnitchi’s clinical expertise includes rhinology and sinus surgery. He completed advanced training in rhinology, which focuses on diseases of the nose and sinuses. His goal is to help patients breathe easier, reduce facial pain and pressure and manage chronic symptoms that don’t respond to medication.
Originally from Moldova, Dr. Prohnitchi has strong communication skills and the ability to connect with patients from all backgrounds. He works well in fast-paced, high-pressure environments and is skilled at managing complex situations with calm and clarity. When helping a patient navigate a diagnosis, he listens and explains treatment options in clear, simple terms.
Dr. Prohnitchi has published research on nasal disorders and sinus surgery techniques and is active in medical education. He is a member of the American Rhinologic Society and continues to stay current with the latest treatments and technologies in his field.
Outside of work, Dr. Prohnitchi enjoys research, reading, CrossFit, boxing, and photography. He is fluent in English, Romanian and French, and is learning Spanish to better connect with more of his patients.

    Out of many ENT specialists I have been to over the years this one is the best. Geisinger would do well to keep this one as long as possible. I think this one is destand for bigger and better things.

    Dr. Prohnitchi is very very good, he takes time to explain everything.
