Hassan Ahmaz, MD, is an anesthesiologist at Geisinger. He provides anesthesia to adults to help them prepare for surgery, especially thoracic and heart surgery. He has clinical interest in cardiac anesthesiology, 3D TEE, education and mentorship.
Dr. Ahmaz earned his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. After medical school, he completed residencies at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and Detroit Medical Center. He followed residency with fellowships at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC.
He notes he enjoys working in a collaborative environment. “Although I’m passionate about the medical care I provide, what makes coming to work something I look forward to each day are my colleagues. We have a very supportive team.”
Dr. Ahmaz is an accomplished medical researcher, writer and presenter. His work has been showcased in numerous publications and presented around the United States.
The accomplishment that makes him most proud is “seeing the clinical and personal growth of our resident trainees and knowing I’m taking part in making them great anesthesiologists who I feel confident in their ability to provide excellent care.”
