About Eric Jie Yang

Eric Yang, MD, is a dermatologist with a passion for helping patients overcome skin cancer. Dr. Yang specializes in Mohs surgery for treating melanoma, basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma. He also works closely with other medical professionals to offer a range of treatments, including cryotherapy, excisional surgery and curettage and electrodesiccation.
 
Dr. Yang's clinical interests revolve around Mohs surgery, cutaneous oncology and supporting high-risk skin cancer patients. "I love being able to treat patients' cancers in a single day and get them back to living their normal lives as soon as possible," he says.
 
With advanced training as a fellow in micrographic surgery and dermatologic oncology, and a Doctor of Medicine from Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University, Dr. Yang is well-equipped to provide exceptional care. His extensive research background includes leading several clinical trials and contributing to over 40 peer-reviewed journal articles.
 
Beyond his clinical work, Dr. Yang is an advocate for skin health, with experience advocating for the American Academy of Dermatology Association and the National Psoriasis Foundation. Originally hailing from San Diego, he can speak conversational Mandarin Chinese and Spanish, in addition to English.

    Dr. Yang was phenomenal. He is very personable and really set my mind at ease. His staff was awesome, as well. I am totally impressed and feel confident with all the staff at the Wilkes-Barre Dermatology office, and I feel at ease going there knowing I will be well taken care of from the check-in staff to check-out!

    Dr. Yang was great! So personable, he put me at ease and was just one of the few physicians at geisinger that have been amazing. I would highly recommend Dr. Yang.i could almost say it was a pleasure to be there! You need more like him!

    Dr. Yang was very kind and reassuring, and he was both a great communicator and a great listener. He described everything perfectly that happened before, during, and after surgery. I never experienced pain during or post surgery and my recovery has gone extremely well. I am very grateful to Dr. Yang for his excellent work and kindness. I will definitely recommend him to others.
