Christopher Joseph Lee, MD, is a family medicine physician who is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.
A native of Hazleton, he grew up with eight siblings and always gravitated to the sciences. His image of the ideal doctor was shaped by caring family physicians he saw on television, and when he went to medical school, he already knew he would be a family doctor.
“There were 212 people in my class, and I think about 12 of us went into primary care,” he says. “I never had a second thought about whether I wanted to be a specialist or primary care doc.”
Dr. Lee considers the ability to collaborate with different types of providers, right on site, the best part about practicing at 65 Forward.
“I can turn to my left or right and talk to a dietitian or pharmacist,” he says. “Having those resources right there really translates into better care.”
Those consultations can help him treat some conditions with options like dietary changes or exercise, instead of medicine.
“Everyone functions as a team toward that goal of getting people the best care when they need it,” he notes. “At a typical primary care office, a patient with complex medical needs doesn’t necessarily get the time, attention and resources they deserve. At 65 Forward, we close that gap.”
Dr. Lee earned his Bachelor of Science in biology from King’s College, his Master of Science in Population Biology from Clarion University and his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine. He completed his residency at the Williamsport Family Medicine Residency Program.
Dr. Lee’s hobbies include wood working, hiking, staying fit and reading about physics and science. He also enjoys following his son’s sports and activities.
