Anthony Guariglia is a certified physician assistant specializing in family medicine. He cares for children and adults for a range of conditions, including diabetes, chest pain, depression, anxiety, mononucleosis, bronchitis and pneumonia. He also performs a variety of medical procedures including vaccinations, ordering and interpreting lab tests and imaging, Pap smears and cerumen removal. “I love helping my patients,” he says. “They inspire me to come to work every day.”
Mr. Guariglia received his physician assistant certification from Marywood University in Scranton. There, he became the first-ever recipient of the Marywood University Physician Assistant Program Spirit Award.
He started his career as a physician assistant in urology at Fiorelli Urology Associates in Wilkes-Barre. “Throughout my lifetime, my family has had several medical issues. I want to help treat these medical issues so other families can avoid the issues mine has had in the past,” he says.
Mr. Guariglia is an active member of the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. He’s certified in advanced life support and CPR.
This proud lifelong resident of northeast Pennsylvania says, “I love this area and the people in it. They helped me to become the person I am today.” In his spare time, Mr. Guariglia roots for the New York Giants and New York Mets. He enjoys watching Notre Dame football, Star Wars and Batman.

I cannot stress how wonderful Anthony was. He deeply cares about his patients. He even followed up with me after hours to advise me of what was going on. It is rare to find someone who shows that level of dedication to their patients. I am so grateful he was the one who cared for me and facilitated my ability to have surgery safely the next morning.

Since being with Geisinger, I have had my visits with many doctors and PAs'. All were great. My last visit was with Anthony who was exceptional. He was very cordial and laid back, yet knowledgeable and considerate of my personal opinions on preventative care. I felt very comfortable discussing my health and concerns with him. He's a great addition to the Geisinger staff!!
