Alissa M. Coyne, OD, MS, is an optometrist who specializes in comprehensive eye care, including the diagnosis and management of complex eye diseases such as glaucoma, dry eye, allergic and infectious conjunctivitis, and retinal disorders. She has advanced expertise in co-management of office-based procedures like laser treatments for glaucoma and secondary cataracts, ophthalmic surgical procedures and the use of oral medications to treat eye conditions. She also provides emergency eye care and helps patients manage systemic conditions that affect vision, such as diabetes and autoimmune diseases.
Dr. Coyne graduated from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University. Her Master of Science in Pharmacology and Toxicology from Michigan State University gives her a strong background in pharmacology and understanding how medications interact with eye health.
Recognized with several outstanding educator awards, Dr. Coyne has trained hundreds of future eye doctors through her work as a faculty member and clinical preceptor. Her passion for teaching extends to helping patients better understand their conditions and treatment options so they can feel confident about their care.
As a leader in optometric laser and surgical education and ocular pharmacology, she frequently lectures at national and international conferences and has authored numerous articles and research abstracts on topics such as glaucoma medications, ocular drug delivery and surgical pharmacology.
In her spare time, Dr. Coyne enjoys staying active with professional associations and contributing to initiatives that advance optometric care and education.

The ct scan couldn't be performed at this location. Alissa went above and beyond and spoke with a doctor at the hospital er to let them know I was coming over to the er to get looked at. She is an asset to your Urgent Care on Baltimore Drive
