Richard Greco Jr., DO, specializes in all medical and surgical aspects of obstetrics and gynecology. He cares for women of all ages, providing a wide range of women’s health services including Pap smears, pelvic exams, birth control, pregnancy and menopause care. He also performs conventional and minimally invasive procedures from cesarean sections to hysterectomies and tubal ligation surgeries.
Dr. Greco aims to provide care that’s tailored to his patients’ unique needs. “I love caring for my patients,” he says. “Whether it’s a well-woman exam, delivering a baby or performing a surgery — I enjoy being able to support my patients throughout every stage of their lives.”
Dr. Greco was inspired to practice medicine by his family members, many of whom are healthcare professionals. “Both my father and brother are doctors, and my mother was a nurse,” he says. “When I was younger, I used to do ‘rounds’ with my dad using my Fisher-Price doctor bag and stethoscope. I always knew I wanted to be a doctor.”
Dr Greco is also passionate about teaching. In the past, he was a clinical preceptor for physician assistant and nurser practitioner students at King’s College and DeSales University. Today, he’s an assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology in the women and children’s institute at Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine.
Born and raised in Pottsville, Dr. Greco earned his medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency at St. John's Episcopal Hospital. Today, he’s back in Pottsville providing care to patients in his hometown.
In his spare time, Dr. Greco enjoys staying fit, golfing, going to the beach and skiing.

I actually choose to switch over to this doctor as my primary gynecologist. He was supposed to be my 2nd opinion doctor but the 2 times I saw him he did more for me than my other doctor did in a year. Im Very impressed with his care and knowledge

I love Dr. Greco. I fully prefer a woman obgyn but he is very friendly, nurturing, kind and caring. He does an amazing job at making me feel comfortable and is very very professional.
