It was the first time I was seeing Dr. Lewis for a cervical cancer screening. I have an existing [...] at the practice but wanted a female to conduct this specific screening. Dr. Lewis was extremely professional and put me at ease. We discussed my partners, and I felt comfortable sharing with her that I was gay and had a female partner of 21 years. I am always reluctant to "come out again" with providers, as many are not comfortable with this sharing and then treat me differently. I have had several very uncomfortable interactions with past providers on this honesty. Not Dr. Lewis though, she was professional, kind and focused on my care. I felt blessed to meet her for this appt. And wanted to share her quality care for ALL patients regardless of their sexual orientation. Thank you, Dr. Lewis!!
