There is no publicly available rating for this care provider for one or more of the following reasons:
  1. He or she does not see patients in the outpatient clinic setting.
  2. He or she sees patients, but has not yet received the minimum number of Patient Satisfaction Reviews. To be eligible for display, we require a minimum of 30 surveys. This ensures that the rating is accurate and statistically reliable.
  3. He or she is a community provider, not a Geisinger-employed provider. Community providers tend to see patients in their own private outpatient practices, which we do not survey.

Dr. Patel showed little concern for my problem (fatigue and confusion) and immediately tried to prescribe an antidepressant. She asked me if my periods were heavy because, if so, my iron could be low. I told her no, and she said well. only going to order iron labs and we'll see. I had to specifically ask her to test for other vitamin deficiencies, Lymes, and blood sugar issues. I honestly felt like she just wanted to blame my symptoms on depression, not look into other causes, prescribe an antidepressant and quickly move on to the next patient. My visits with her get shorter and shorter every single time. I will be changing doctors, after 4+ years with Dr. Patel.

I came with a specific problem and an annual exam, but because it was my first appointment we spent most of the time getting my medical history. my exam was perfunctory and the doctor actually tried to hear lung sounds through my bra. I felt she did one unnecessary lab test, but didn't do a simple inexpensive lab test that would have addressed my primary complaint - fatigue of new onset.

very happy with the whole wxperience

I needed a little extra TLC this visit and Dr Patel took the time with me - we discussed a different med and how and when to follow up.

Dr. Patel is a friendly and approachable doctor who listens and gives good care.

I wrote a list of problems prior to the appointment. I went through only a few. I got the distinct impression that Dr. Patel thought I was wasting her time. I had hoped to talk to her about Lyme disease, cardio exams because of my sleep apnea, and signs of dementia. All have similar symptoms to my prescription side-effects. I also wanted her to check a swollen gland on the back of my neck, and she brushed me off saying I could discuss it with a surgeon when I talked to him/her about the lipoma on my neck and removal of the internal hemorrhoids.

I was given Prevnar vaccine; less that 24 hours later, I had flu-like symptoms. Did use MyGeisinger to report these to Dr. Patel. Was ill for at least four days and still have cough and congestion. Assumed this was reaction to vaccine.

I have complete confidence in my provider.

Was told could do a sonogram if I wanted it but didn't insist that one should be done to rule out anything. Then told to follow up with the family doctor in a week maybe he would end up ordering having a scope done. Came home and even felt worse ended up at the Tyrone Regional ER that evening which they didn't do anything based on the doctors paperwork we received. Sunday ended up at Mount Nittany ER and they automatically did a sonogram and ruled out Gall Badder and sent me home with 2 perscriptions and told me to follow up with family doctor which if problem still consisted to have him sent up a CT scan or even having a scope to the stomach.
May 5
No follow up care required.

I will recommend. Excellent service.

after expressing that i am not comfortable with steriods, that is what was prescribed for my sinus infection. I was told if i got worse and came back, then she would give antibiotics. At this point, I gave up. I GUESS I"M NOT SICK ENOUIGH! i 'm still quite sick, and have not returned to work. I feel I can not trust anymore. I contacted her and It's like she wantwed me sicker so she could spend all my money doing all kinds of test, which is what she is suggesting. i'm not rich, and can't afford it. So I guess I have to stay away!
