There is no publicly available rating for this care provider for one or more of the following reasons:
  1. He or she does not see patients in the outpatient clinic setting.
  2. He or she sees patients, but has not yet received the minimum number of Patient Satisfaction Reviews. To be eligible for display, we require a minimum of 30 surveys. This ensures that the rating is accurate and statistically reliable.
  3. He or she is a community provider, not a Geisinger-employed provider. Community providers tend to see patients in their own private outpatient practices, which we do not survey.

The doctor was very pushy about birth control.
May 11
It was my first time seeing Dr. Roots, and she was fantastic.
May 4
She came in the room, looked at my incision said it looked good and was done and walked out of the room. I didn't get a chance to ask her any questions and she didn't feel the scar tissue that I was concerned about at the time -

March 31
felt like she listened to me and wasn't rushing me

Dr. very caring in my treatment.

Did not realize she doesn't take care of GYN problems or would've selected a different provider.
Feb 17
Provider had an appointment of her own to leave for so the visit was rushed to a degree.

I really felt well cared for by Dr. Roots. If I had seen her earlier in my pregnancy, I would've tried to be followed by her.

I go through all Geisinger departments for most of my care & dealt with many doctors, including a million different ones in L&D. I must say that Dr. Roots is by far my favorite. She seems to cover all potential questions before I even get the chance to ask, and she does so very thoroughly.

I felt like her goal was to get me out the door as quickly as possible. She simply reassured me that everything was fine and that there really wasn't anything I could do about the discomfort that brought me there that day.

Having female issues which are pretty serious. Had radiologist recommend follow-up in 2 months, Dr. Roots said 1-2 years. She wasn't even concerned when I said I was in pain. Not a dr. I would ever want to see again. For a first time visit it will... definitely be a last. I would rather wait an hour for a doctor who cared than 5 minutes for a doctor who brushed me off.

Should have been given medication prior to IUD placement to soften cervix. Pain medication should have also been given. Never had children before & pain med would have been helpful.

best women's health professional I have dealt with, caring explains well and most importantly treats me as with respect care and dignity

She completely ignored my primary complaint and was content to leave me with an untreated an infection- with no suggestions for how to proceed further or anything to try- unexplained pain- with no suggestions other than to take ibuprofen, even though the pain was clearly abnormal, and she ignored the details I tried to give her about my symptoms, literally talking right over them in a fake-concerned voice- then walking out without giving me any resolution, saying "We'll see you next year." I am leaving this practice.

Dr came in didnt ask how I was feeling or explain what I may be going through. After an hour and a half ride down there, thinking I was going to get better care only to be told shes going to order bloodwork and if thats ok to follow up with my pcp. Very frustrated with this dr,it seemed my health was not important to her and that she was either very busy or just didnt care!

Dr. Roots explained everything and was very thorough.

I have already recommended this Dr. to my family/friends.

*Dr. Roots, while extremely professional & knowledgeable, was also exceptionally empathetic. I thank God for having been scheduled with this Dr.!

During the actual appointment the doctor was very kind and explained everything she was doing. Afterwards was where my issues came into play I had a lot of questions. I wanted ask about what was done and some concerns/worries. But before I could ask she was up and out the door. I left with no information and upset but didn't say anything.

Given the length of time the practitioner was running behind, the appt was incredibly rushed and I had zero opportunity to ask any of the questions I had come with or clarify what future appts I should have. I too have been behind in appts before and understand that it is usually out of the practitioner's control, but one should always ask if there are any questions before exiting the room.

I haven't had a pap smear in almost thirty years so for me I would come back to Dr. Roots that should tell you something, she was easy but quick and her and the nurse made me feel comfortable.
