Dr Harter is definitely the most professional and nicest physician I have had the pleasure to deal with at Geisinger. His whole staff is most impressive. Dr Harter himself is consistently professional in speech and appearance. He dresses in a suit and tie much of the time, he always directly greets you face to face with a cheery smile and a hand shake. He thanked me for allowing me to provide a service and shook my hand and asked me to consider him again if the need ever arises. Most refreshing. He impressed me very much because I have been an inpatient nurse for almost 30 years and I feel I have seen my share of physicians both good and bad. I definitely would recommend him to any one needing a similar procedure

Dr. Harter was very attentive. He listened to my problem and gave a few suggestions about what to expect.

Dr. Harter performed 4 surgeries on med. Repair of (L) + (R) rotator cuff, (L) Cardial head, relief of carpal tunnel symptoms.

Dr. Harter was recommended by family for a third opinion after I received conflicting information. I barely saw Dr. Harter for more than 5 min.; was unable to ask questions and his resident also lacked knowledge. I was unimpressed, and very unhappy after traveling over an hour and than waiting an hour.

He's very friendly, checks your problems out good answer's all questions! Knows when to schedule your next appt. After examining your medical problem!

The answers above were regarding Dr. Harter. The patient was seen by another care provider (resident, NP or PA) prior to Dr. Harter entering the room. The experience with this person was not as satisfactory . Did not introduce himself and did not see his name badge ; so unaware of his name or position. Concentrated on the negative of surgery rather than being optimistic of outcome. When patient cancelled surgery, this concern was addressed with Dr. Harter.

Dr. Harter is very upbeat and understands my situation. so, it is all good.

I'm now at 6 months post knee replacement surgery, and I have more pain and less mobility than before surgery. Dr. Harder says I should walk more, but I can barely stand even with a cane.

Not communicating with me re: my problem. Placed a follow up call to him and he never acknowledged my concerns. Had to go on internet to find out my problem.

Dr. Harter and his staff are some of the best medical professionals I have had the opportunity to work with for my health conditions. I have and will continue to recommend Dr. Harter to our friends and family.

at this appt. dr. harter gave no concern to my problem with leg cramp, concern about going back to a very physical 10 hour work day. did not even examine or evaluate my process. his main concern was to tell me no patient of his was ever signed off more then 12 weeks after having a hip replacement. i feel that was his main concern to keep his "patient turn-around" at 12 weeks...not concern of my physical well being, and if he was pushing my return to soon. excellent surgeon...terrible post-surgurey care...

Dr. Harter and his staff are one of the best I have ever dealt with. I will continue to visit him and I do recommend Dr. Harter to anyone I know or meet that I feel he can help. Do whatever it takes to keep him on your staff!

I think docs were well qualified but not friendy and not communicative - cold,. aloof and not sensitive at all.

I had been suffering with this injury since 2011 from a visit at Evan ER where doctor forced leg to straighten I think I needed an MRI but did not state that. I had been in crutches for weeks and it never healed. I am referred for therapy meanwhile.

I saw Dr. Harter for about 5 min. He came to me, said he had reviewed my x-rays, that I needed a total knee replacement, checked his book and told me it would be Oct. 6th. He asked me if I was willing to work hard, I replied "yes", he was gone. Busy surgeon!

I had a aspiation of the right knee today without any anestesia topical or injection. I have requested mutiple times that he reveiws my x-rays with me and he has refused. He says "they're fine". He smiles and tries to use his charm when he thinks I am mad at him. He is rude and belittleing.

Was surprised that surgery was imminent so was not prepared to discuss the issues in a cohesive manner. I've done a lot of research now and will be able to carry on a conversation at my next visit.

Been trying to get a referral for my leg for the last two weeks but my doctor does not respond to my MyGeisinger messages and when I've tried to call I have not been able to speak to someone to get a referral. Very frustrating.

Dr. Harter is an excellent surgeon and is very caring for his patients and their needs. His staff also are very courteous and knowledgeable about each patient and their needs. My experiences with Dr. Harter and his staff have been shared with many of whom asked about my procedure and experiences.
