There is no publicly available rating for this care provider for one or more of the following reasons:
  1. He or she does not see patients in the outpatient clinic setting.
  2. He or she sees patients, but has not yet received the minimum number of Patient Satisfaction Reviews. To be eligible for display, we require a minimum of 40 surveys. This ensures that the rating is accurate and statistically reliable.
  3. He or she is a community provider, not a Geisinger-employed provider. Community providers tend to see patients in their own private outpatient practices, which we do not survey.

bed side manor is extremely lacking, obvious the medical chart not reviewed prior to him entering the room, talked "down" to us and what he was "correcting" us about he was incorrect

Dr. Maguire is a class act. Very compassionate unlike Dr. ------ was when we had him.

#10. Do not know of anyone with the diagnosed condition to recommend.

We feel very comfortable with *Dr. Maguire. Great bedside manner and my daughter is comfortable with him as well.

We have seen this provider once before, and his bedside manner was certainly lacking. However, this time he was down right arrogant and rude. He did not allow me to finish a single sentence and completely dismissed every single one of my concerns and comments. We have a child w significant neurologic impairments that we have been dealing with since she was 2 days of age. We have been through the system and have worked well with our prior neurologist as well as multiple other specialists. Dr. Maguire entered the exam room with a plan of action with no regard to the input and perspective from me, my husband or my daughter. In addition, he made derogatory remarks about my daughters developmental progress right in front of her.

Dr. Maguire is obviously knowledgeable and has a straightforward communication style, which I generally like. However, I felt that he didn't understand why we were there since he didn't think our daughter had a problem. We were glad to hear that he found her neurologically normal. However, he implied that she isn't walking at almost 21 months because we are babying her too much. He did not seem sensitive to our concerns about the fact that she seems fearful about walking at her age even though she is capable. I wouldn't say our experience with Dr. Maguire was bad. He did confirm for us that there is no neurological problem, which is his specialty. However, I think his manner could have been a little more sensitive and a little less critical.

Probably our worst experience with a doctor ever. He totally disregarded the reason we came to him telling us "that's neither here nor there", and his symptoms have nothing to do with it. He focused on my son's weight rather than our concern for going to him. My son left feeling horrible about himself regarding the doctor's comments about his weight. He made me feel like I've done nothing to help my son about his headache or his weight. Will not return to him. Will ask for a different doctor.

Dr. Maguire is a no nonsense doctor. Not overly friendly but knows what he is talking about. I am confident in his abilities.

Dr. Maguire is a very smart man , that is obvious. Although, he is socially inept. He looked at the floor the entire time. Made VERY little eye contact or did almost nothing to have any personal connections. He was very busy, he answered pages or texts (whatever it was) during our appointment. It was obvious he was backed up and just wanted to get the appointment over with. I'm never usually a negative person, but Dr. Maguire did not show empathy or any emotion towards our son during the "5 minute" visit. He did not pick our son up or touch him to evaluate. He did a few short test with change in his change (jingling it) for vision, hearing and put change on the table for detecting fine motor skills. Every time you asked a question, it felt like we were infringing on him time. I understand we are not here for his social skills, but patients AND parents need to feel a personal connection, and with him there was none. He's a cut and dry guy and I cannot work with someone like that. Our personalities clash and we have changed doctors.

No follow up after appointment - had blood work drawn, but never received results from the bloodwork.
