There is no publicly available rating for this care provider for one or more of the following reasons:
  1. He or she does not see patients in the outpatient clinic setting.
  2. He or she sees patients, but has not yet received the minimum number of Patient Satisfaction Reviews. To be eligible for display, we require a minimum of 30 surveys. This ensures that the rating is accurate and statistically reliable.
  3. He or she is a community provider, not a Geisinger-employed provider. Community providers tend to see patients in their own private outpatient practices, which we do not survey.

During my appointment NO mention was made to me that she wanted me to see a kidney specialist. I found out when I was scheduling my appointment for a return visit to Abeysinge...I questioned it and the scheduler was to send a memo to Dr so that she could call with an explanation of the concerns I had....No call was received...I looked over my charts on myGeisinger.com and realized some of my blood work showed a level of concern...NONE of this was discussed with me....just small talk and telling me I needed to get ear wax softener for my left ear....This level of incompetence is NOT acceptable in a primary care physician....Needless to say, I am seriously considering changing Drs.

Dr. Abesinghe is very helpful.

she recognised there was more of a problem with my finger than I thought and she immediately made an appointment with a surgeon .

I think I shouldn't have to wait as long as I do for the doctor to come in after the nurse takes you back into a room.

she was very nice, but I felt with the injury I had and not being able to walk well and she said to have minimal weight bearing on my right foot that I should have been offered crutches(she did say I needed a boot and the office did not have any), I understand the office probably does not have stuff for orthopedic issues but if a provider actually sees that a patient is having issues with walking and they recommend minimal weight bearing they should at least offer or get the patient crutches until they can get to the orthopedic dr. I also like a dr that takes their time and listens to their patients, this provider seems to rush through patients.

Very concerned & very friendly love my doctors.

I am extremely hard of hearing and do struggle hearing Dr. A. It's not only her accent, but she does not talk loudly enough. This is frustrating in that I have been her patient a long time and feel she should be well aware of my hearing issue.

I love Dr Abeysinghe. She is so sincere and caring. I fell like she really listens to me and is genuinely there to help me. I highly recommend her to my friends searching for a new doctor.

Originally had different doctor was reassigned - this one is all business - there isn't much discussion about anything - think she is like this and it's reflected in the demeanor of her assistance.

Disappointed that PAP was referred to OB/GYN Dept. Not thrilled that a stool specimen is required every other year. I've had a colonoscopy and am due for a second one in 2 years. Never had any issues - (Income generated?!)

At first I thought I chose a male MD by name when they changed to DO system my mistake. Usually I had no problem with assigned MD. I felt threatened a little. She was correct lowering 2 medicines. But not stopping 1.

I went to my care provider because I am having pain and can't sleep. She said to take Aleve for my pain and told me to see DR. Grover, for pain management. I am a diabetic and have been told never to take over the counter drugs except Tylenol. The Aleve made me sick, in the past I was allowed to take Vicodin and did not abuse them.

Can't understand many words.

Dr Abys-- accent caused unavoidable problems at times, but easily resolved. No issues with it at all.
March 11
This appointment seemed to focus more what routine tests need scheduled, than the problems I was experiencing.

I am very happy with this care provider

Dr. Abeysinghe is my preferred PCP.

I have been misdiagnosed prior to my last appointment and have lost faith in the doctor. The most recent appointment I felt like I was not taken serious and rushed.

Giving 3 pres. for blood sugar test lances did not fit injection drug store had to order other lances. Had to pay for injection - Other's patience said they didn't half to pay for there unit where lancers go. Very little info on meter.

This Dr. is friendly, but does not seem overly concerned about my problems. She seems in a hurry to get on with her next patient. I always come away feeling like it is highly unlikely I will ever feel that I have a good Dr./patient relationship. Her accent is a hindrance in understanding all she says. She gladly repeats when asked but it is still a problem.

Dr. CHAMPA D ABEYSINGHE, MD. was very good.

Have seen this particular lady three times. This visit was certainly the most friendly of the three. Her physical assessment skills could use a refresher course however (and I know this skill set). I did not feel her ENT checks were good enough for that particular visit complaint especially. As proof of this statement, the record will reflect that I indeed had to see my PCP nine days later for more treatment. Having said this, my PCP, Dr. Szulawski, is excellent in all of these areas! He is a great doctor- always spends as much time as needed, very thorough and friendly.

I like her! She's very competent and thorough.

A pleasant & confident.

Conversation about Penn State; her two Penn State student children... Added feelings of humanness vs. usual professional - only visit.
