I would not recommend this provider to anyone friend or foe! This provider was biased and came into the room cold and uncaring. She did not listen to my lungs/heart/breathing/chest or nothing, immediately did an internal and them had her practicing dr do an internal exam in a rush and ran out the door and told me to get dressed. When she came back in she already knew what she was going to do and that was nothing. She clearly stated that she WOULD NOT not could not but would not do my surgery to remove my cancer because of my weight and my breathing. After i informed her that i had just had pulmonary testing done proving that i DO NOT have COPD, that i only had severe allergy induced asthma and that i could get the records to her so she could review over them; of course she declined and stated that i needed to complete getting my gastric bypass surgery, which i am in the middle of doing, and once i have lost 100 lbs to call and reschedule and then she would do the surgery and if i disagreed with her i can get another opinion. Never once did she seem concerned about me or my well being and i will make sure that anyone that asks me about her will know exactly what form of person she is' in my opinion she is just a person that went through medical school and got a degree but didnt learn compassion or empathy. If she was so concerned about my health and my breathing she should have offered to do an Omenectomy to lessed the amount of weight that would be on my chest, lungs and heart during surgery, i know that this is something that can be done during a total hysterectomy especially if the cancer had spread to the Omentum, but that was never even brought up as a possibility. I feel that this dr gives Geisinger health systems a bad name and does not represent everything that Geisinger stands for!

I can't express enough how much I love Dr. Smith - one of, if not the best, dr. I have ever had. She is caring, very pleasant, "up front", down to earth and always in the very best mood. She truly cares for her patients. Geisinger is very fortunate to have a doctor of this calibar..

I love Dr. Smith. She even makes referrals to other Drs. for me when I need them. I know it will get done as she always follows through with what she says she will do. I hope she never leaves.
